Starting on the Westernmost tip of Ireland, we drove for three days to my friend Hermine's chateau/ arts institution just North of Paris taking my paintings from Bavarian Jigsaws, Sliced Iguana series. I'd painted them in my huge studio in Ballydavid, but they were hard to hang in local galleries, so the chateau was the perfect setting with silk wallpaer and fading glory befitting of Lola Montes and Sissy the empress of Austria. We had an old camper van, apart from these masterpieces, filled to the gills with the children, tents, surfboards, diving gear, I could say everyhting but the kitchen sink - but of course we had that too! WE carried on South after the show and decided to move to Biarritz.......
