St. Martins Degree Show 1982

My Degree show at St. Martins where I was studying painting and also had started the Neo Naturists. The tutors were mach abstract expressionists and didn't like anything about my work - or me! They wanted to fail me and asked me to do a Viva, so I turned Christine into an abstract expressionist painting and served them canapés from a frame made from sliced white bread and Primula cheese - with a garnish of staples...... This did not endear me to the Painting Department, but luckily Patrick Heron appreciated my hospitality and over turned their decision and gave me a First.

No-one spoke to me at the official private view.
